CONTENT, ASSESSMENT AND WORKLOAD

Content
  • valid for whole curriculum period:

This is a course on authors and agents, on the cultural role of the conception of the author and the way different conceptions of it, together with diverse agencies are central for artistic production. It is also about positions in life, art and philosophy. What is an author, actually? What do we mean with authorship? Marx is the author of The Capital, but he is also somehow the author of Marxism too? We discuss ways of over-emphasizing the author in art and reactions against it. What would authorship be without copyright? How do our ideas on authorship and genius affect people's behavior (Me Too)? The course supports the student's own 'path', the way we today often need to build our own position, agency and way of being author/artist/designer in today's world.
