LEARNING OUTCOMES

On successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Identify the different stages of creating animatable 3D characters
  • design and build a simple 3D character, and animate it
  • Consider and explore the requirements and possibilities of using 3D characters in a specific project

Content

    This course introduces all the different stages of creating a simple animatable 3D character. Subjects covered are: design, modeling, texturing, rigging, animating.

Assessment Methods and Criteria

    Participation in teaching, completed assignments.

    Minimum 80% attendance.

Workload

    Lectures, examples, step-by-step tutored hands-on excercises, working and experimenting on your own, feedback, animation screenings and discussion.
