LEARNING OUTCOMES

Upon completion of the course students:

  • Understand project value creation and valuation from different perspectives and time horizons.
  • Can compare and contrast different cooperation and contracting models for projects
  • Understand sustainability and corporate social responsibility management in international projects.
  • Understand strategic project management and long-term value creation.
  • Can evaluate and select appropriate management approaches and processes for strategic projects with multiple stakeholders in project networks.

Content

    This course focuses on advanced topics of project management from the strategic viewpoint and value creation perspective. Responsibility and sustainability in projects and project networks with different collaboration models are also covered. The course provides in-depth understanding on these themes and the related topics mentioned in the course content. Common course themes are Project value creation and cooperation models, Responsibility and sustainability in projects and project networks with measures and Strategic project management and long-term value creation.

Assessment Methods and Criteria

    All course tasks (each pre-assignment and course final essay) must be passed.

Workload

    Mandatory participation to on-line lecture sessions, pre-assignments, final essay.
