LEARNING OUTCOMES

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to

- Understand three approaches to the study of leadership and explain both strengths and weaknesses of each approach 

- Apply key theoretical frameworks to real-life examples of teamwork and leadership

- Critically evaluate the relationship between culture and teamwork/leadership

- Develop communication strategies for effective teamwork

Content

    The overall aim of this course is to improve the students' skills to work in a diverse team in various professional contexts. To achieve the goal, this course provides both theoretical and practical knowledge on teamwork and leadership. Topics covered include leadership theories, culture and discursive leadership, and communication skills for effective teamwork.

Assessment Methods and Criteria

    - Active participation and discussion 25%

    - Individual tasks 30%

    - Team buidling task 15%

    - Team project and presentation 30%

Workload

    36 h small group instruction + 45 h independent study
