LEARNING OUTCOMES

After the course a student will

  • Have an in-depth understanding what IEM as a professional field is about and what is required from them to become a future responsible IEM professional
  • Have built a strong understanding of the open-ended nature of the problems that IEM professionals are confronted with and recognized the need to continuously develop their personal and professional competence
  • Have gained a solid view of future career prospects of IEM professionals
  • Have gained a sense of belonging to the IEM community as a whole

CONTENT, ASSESSMENT AND WORKLOAD

Content

    This course serves as an integrative course for first-year IEM master’s students that brings together all students enrolled in the program. Through a series of workshops with fellow students, alumni of the program and IEM faculty, the course establishes a basis for personal as well as professional development and lifelong learning and helps students reflect about their future career prospects as well as what it means to be a responsible member of the IEM community.

Assessment Methods and Criteria

    Passing requires participation to three out of four workshops, and submission of group and individual assignments.

    This course is for first-year IEM master’s students. To participate, the student needs to be enrolled in the IEM master’s program and be in their first year of study or start in the IEM master’s program during the autumn period in which the course takes place.
