Content

In this course, the student can exploit the most common materials characterization methods to characterize the structure and physical properties of materials. The student can evaluate the capabilities and limitations of major materials and surface characterization techniques such as: Optical microscopy, nanoindentation, Raman, Electronic Transport, XRF, XRD, AFM, TEM, SEM, EDS, WDS, XPS.
Assessment Methods and Criteria
valid for whole curriculum period:
Weekly lecture, 5 laboratory projects, written reports (five laboratory reports with each report is of 12 marks and in total 60 marks), examination (36 marks), feedback (4 marks)
Examination: Casse study (mid-semester) 6 marks (presentation of 15 minutes)+Endsemester exam(30 marks)

A course implementation may be cancelled if the number of students enrolled to the course implementation does not meet the required minimum of five students. In the case of cancelled course implementations, the students enrolled to them must be provided with an alternative way of completing the course or be advised to take some other applicable course.
