- rationalize the principles of circular economy and their relevance in the production and processing of raw materials
- create new designs for product/process/service that follows the circular economy principles
- identify opportunities for value-generation from activities supporting circular economy and develop an entrepreneurial mindset
- use models for recycling processes to evaluate their feasibility, efficiency, and environmental impact
- work in a multidisciplinary team

Content

At this course the student conceptualizes the role of a circular economy model for the production of raw materials. The students will work in multidisciplinary teams and apply an entrepreneurial mindset to solve an industry relevant project by developing a new process, product or system design and construct a business plan around it. The student groups will present their projects in front of a panel of experts.

A maximum of 30 students will be admitted to the course. Course is offered to all Aalto students, but preference is given to students in the Sustainable Metals Processing major.
A course implementation may be cancelled if the number of students enrolled to the course implementation does not meet the required minimum of five students. In the case of cancelled course implementations, the students enrolled to them must be provided with an alternative way of completing the course or be advised to take some other applicable course.
