LEARNING OUTCOMES

On successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

1. develop understating of various Data types from everyday use.

2. develop skills to visualise data.

3. learn the process of information design.

4. learn user centred design approach for information design.

5. learn iterative and explorative approaches to achieve creative visualisations.

Content

    The course introduces the basic concepts and processes of information design. It covers aspects of understanding data, learning various methods of data collection, structuring data and visualizing data to make meaning in a context. This course will introduce a wide variety of information design applications and prepare students to critically analyze and develop creative information visualizations.

Assessment Methods and Criteria

Workload

    6 ECTS ≈ 162h of which 56h contact teaching

    Lectures, discussion, assignments & experiments. Minimum 80% attendance.
