CONTENT, ASSESSMENT AND WORKLOAD

Content

    The course will focus on helping students to gain an understanding of different approaches to and methodologies of practice-led research and research through artistic practices. The course will present diversecritical perspectives related to the film medium that will aid students to contextualize their film work within the field of artistic research and theory. The course will also prepare students for the written part of the MA thesis.

Assessment Methods and Criteria

    Students will have to attend the lectures and complete the assignments in order to gain credits for this course.

Workload

    Lectures, film screenings, independent study and discussions.

    Lectures (1:1 ratio) = 55 hours (máx) Independent study (1:2) = 53 hours (máx) Total: 108 hours.

    At least 80% participation in face-to-face teaching is mandatory to complete the course. If, due to absences, the student does not achieve the learning outcomes defined in the course description, the remaining 20% may have to be compensated as determined by the responsible teachers of the course.

    All absences must be reported to the teachers in charge. The responsible teachers of the course will specify the necessary compensating assignments.
