LEARNING OUTCOMES

On successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Identify the different stages of creating a simple 3D animation project.
  2. Plan and pre-visualize an animation project.
  3. Do the time-consuming multi-staged work that goes into any 3D animation project.
  4. Consider and explore the requirements and possibilities of 3D animation project.

CONTENT, ASSESSMENT AND WORKLOAD

Content

    This course introduces all the different stages of creating a simple 3D animation. Subjects covered are: Pre-visualizing (storyboard, animatic, blocking), design, modeling, texturing, rigging, animating, lighting, rendering.

Assessment Methods and Criteria

    Participation in teaching, completed assignments.

    Minimum 80% attendance.

Workload

    Some short lectures, examples, step-by-step tutored hands-on excercises. Project work, individual feedback, tutoring and problem-solving.
