    Course has varying contents that may change annually. Different workshops/study events are organized by majors of Art & Media. 

    This Art&Media Programme course is an intensive workshop offered during week 7 of period 3. Several version of this workshop may be offered and students should be careful in choosing the specific workshop identified in their personal study plans.

    9.15-11 Starting lecture. Film developing in theory.

    11-12 Visit in the Väre and Otakaari darkrooms

    12–13 Lunch

    13–17 Film developing (may be done in turns while some are having lunch)


    Tuesday / tiistai 20.2.

    9.15-12 Darkroom printing in theory and printing demo at Väre darkroom

    12-13 Lunch

    13-17 Darkroom printing (Otakaari and Väre darkrooms)


    Wednesday / keskiviikko 21.2.

    9.15-12 Darkroom printing independently (Otakaari and Väre darkrooms)

    13-17 Darkroom printing & film developing with caffenol (Väre darkroom)


    Thursday / torstai 22.2.

    9:15-12 Toning and reducing of the prints (fiber base prints).

    9:15-12 Darkroom printing. Chemigrammes.

    13–16 Finishing touches and course critique. Course feedback, small test and developing

    propositions. How to continue on the analogue path?


    Extra: Joint visit at the Finnish Museum of Photography / K1 Gallery Pentti Sammallahti "The Two of Us" exhibition, if students

    haven't seen it.




Assessment Methods and Criteria

    Participation in teaching, completed assignments.

    Minimum 80% attendance.
