CONTENT, ASSESSMENT AND WORKLOAD

Content

    The course includes the development of collections designed during fashion collection design course, lectures, workshops and industry visits. Students have the possibility to direct their own specialization through combined studio courses. The course familiarizes students with collection development in industrial contexts, current and future sample development processes as well as practices such as collaborating and communicating in professional teams. Students learn how to articulate, present and communicate their work in a professional context.

Assessment Methods and Criteria

    Passing the course requires attending 80% of contact teaching sessions and completion of all individual and group assignments. Introductory session is mandatory.

    The core course is 6 cr and recommended to be combined with one of the advanced workshop courses: MUO-E1061 Advanced 3D shaping workshop, MUO-E1062 Advanced Knits and Knitwear Workshop, MUO-E1063 Advanced Printed Fabrics and Finishes workshop. The selection should be based on the students personal study plan approved by their academic advisor. Materials used in design works and sample pieces of the core courseare self-funded.
