Content
valid for whole curriculum period:
The course explores contemporary practices on artistic and arts-based research, setting the students own research projects as starting points. In this course, we investigate what kind of knowledge can artistic practice bring into research, and how might the participants' ongoing doctoral work benefit from this knowledge. We explore the different historical backgrounds, and contemporary discourses around artistic, arts-based and practice-based research, also engaging with their critique. The examples come from international academic and arts publications, and transdisciplinary publications from other fields than arts, and through the many visitors of the class.
