LEARNING OUTCOMES
Students will have a basic understanding of various electronic components and their uses. Students will be able to design and build an electronic circuit. Students will build a self-contained "synth & amp" music box.

CONTENT, ASSESSMENT AND WORKLOAD
Content

1 week intensive workshop, building synths and amps from electronic components, followed by performing with them.

Approximate schedule for the workshop week. Notice that instructions are shared during the week.
Monday: Introduction for the course week. Intro for basic electronic components. 4093 demo. Prototyping on a breadboard with 4093 cmos chip.Tuesday: Continuation of synth prototyping. Introducing 4060, 4046 cmos chips with demos.
Wednesday: Finishing synth design on breadboard. Drawing (pen & paper) a schematic of a designed synth circuit.
Thursday: Soldering synth circuit on a copperboard, based of drawn schematic.
Friday: Testing and debugging the soldered synth circuit. Mounting synth circuit into a box with external components (audio jack, switches, potentiometers etc).
Assessment Methods and Criteria

Active participation in workshop, and successful completion of project.

Intensive one-week workshop. Students are expected to be present all week.

Make: Understanding electronic components; check video clips related to resistor, capasitor (0:00 - 2:00 and 6:00 ->) and integrated circuit aka IC (like 4093, 4060, 4046 cmos ICs are).
