CONTENT, ASSESSMENT AND WORKLOAD

Content

    The aim of practical training is to deepen the professional skills by doing major studies related area specific practical engineering and/or research tasks under senior supervision. The tasks should be typical for the branch and later M.Sc. work profiles. Note! Possible requirements and recommendations for the type and content of the training tasks set by the individual master programmes are to be followed (separate list). The student applies for a trainee position in a suitable company or other organization.

Assessment Methods and Criteria

    - Official employer s reference.

    - Aalto ENG form for working task training requirement conformity signed by the employer.

    - 2-3 pages personal reflective report on training period learning outcomes and observations.

Workload
  • valid for whole curriculum period:

    Two weeks of full time work (37,5 – 40 h / week) equals 1 credit point (max 10 weeks=5 cr). .  Max 10 weeks = 5 credits may be included in the elective studies. The trainee assignment as such can be longer and it can also consist of several shorter periods or longer term part time assignments (credits are awarded with the periods collected and combined). Both domestic and international training is accepted.
