LEARNING OUTCOMES
The purpose of this course is to provide students with an overview of strategic retail management and marketing. The course introduces the most essential elements of retail strategy and strategic planning in the retail industry. The course describes key steps in designing a retail strategy and explains how to build a sustainable competitive advantage in constantly changing business environment. The course also takes a look at internationalization in retailing. The specific feature of the course is that it integrates theoretical knowledge with practical insights. After completion of the course, the student has an understanding of the key areas of strategic retail management with a special emphasis on marketing related decisions.
