  • Apply and test these methods in practice and evaluate the effect from dramaturgical standpoint of the story.

CONTENT, ASSESSMENT AND WORKLOAD

Content
  • valid for whole curriculum period:

    During this workshop students in cinematography and directing are working in collaboration on different short scene rehearsals. They create and execute their own approaches according to given assignments.

    Lectures and examples of camera movement’s effect from dramaturgical standpoint of the story in filmmaking canon. Hands-on rehearsals in small teams with given assignments and with given technical crew and tools. Students will also work in different rotating camera crew roles during the workshop. Repeating practical rehearsals and analysing development and possibilities with teachers, students, and supervising crew by screening filmed material on set.

Assessment Methods and Criteria
  • valid for whole curriculum period:

    Participating at the opening day of the workshop is mandatory.

    Active and regular participation to group working and lectures, accomplishment of given tasks and self-reflection about the learning process during the workshop.

    Evaluation criteria based on student’s crew and own reflection about their learning process, co-operation skills and students own share of co-operation. Student’s own progress evaluated during different stages of the workshop and in common feed-back session at the end of the workshop.

Workload
  • valid for whole curriculum period:

    At least 80% participation in face-to-face teaching is mandatory to complete the course. If, due to absences, the student does not achieve the learning outcomes defined in the course description, the remaining 20% may have to be compensated as determined by the responsible teachers of the course. All absences must be reported to the teachers in charge. The responsible teachers of the course will specify the necessary compensating assignments.

    Participating at the opening day of the workshop is mandatory.
