LEARNING OUTCOMES

After successful completion, the student is able to:

  • Design advanced printed fabrics and finishes on an advanced level for industrial production and document the results;
  • Identify their own aesthetic approach and find their own creative voice in the field of printed fabrics and finishes;
  • Practice experimental, practice-based and conceptual approaches in printed fabrics and finishes;
  • Apply design and process management skills in printed fabrics and finishes.

CONTENT, ASSESSMENT AND WORKLOAD

Content

    The course includes practice-led studio work and is to be taken in combination with fashion and textile design courses. In the course, students are introduced to the design of advanced printed fabrics and finishes. The course consists of practice-led studio work, where students explore various digital and physical design methods connected to their chosen focus of printed fabrics and finishes. Sustainable printing and finishing methods are introduced in the course. The course assignment is linked to the concept designed in the Textile Design Concept, Fashion Design Concept, and/or Fashion Collection project course and can be combined with the assignment of Advanced Knits and Knitwear project, Advanced Woven Fabrics and Jacquard Workshop, Advanced 3D-shaping project and/ or Advanced Workshop Project.

    Please note that the course is linked to the courses: MUO-E1079 Textile Design Concept and/or MUO-E1080 Fashion Design Concept and/or MUO-E1076 Fashion Collection Project.

    Assignments. 100% active attendance, of which 20% can be covered with additional assignment.
