LEARNING OUTCOMES
On successful completion of this course, students will be able to:1. work in a group to plan, organize and carry out a shared presentation of visual photographic works for a public audience
2. select, arrange, produce and present artistic work suited to an external presentation context (such as publication, installation, exhibition, or any other public format)
3. assess varied artistic and distributive practices and consider how diverse means of presentation may impact an individual art work
4. utilize and apply various kinds of installation and publishing tools, techniques and materials that support the presentation and the planned outcome
5. critically assess, compose and write, and use various types of texts in relation to your artistic output and its relation to an external audience
6. work professionally and independently in co-operation with actors from a diverse set of external organizations for exhibition and publication processes

Content

This course prepares the student for a collective public presentation and/or its attendant intervention into a social context. It includes planning and implementing a collective set of works that can be displayed and distributed which may include a diverse set of platforms that relate to external audience. The role and composition of varied texts related to presentation and publication will also be learned.
The course is only for second year Master's students of Photography major who present the artistic component of their thesis or a part of it in a collective public presentation.

9 ECTS ≈ 243h Total hours = 243h 142 hours = contact teaching 101 hours = independent work study The artistic work is part of the thesis, for which the credits will be given separately. Workshop: planning and producing a collective public presentation and its intervention into public discourse Lectures: on varied installation, exhibition, publishing, and other public-centric practices; challenges and advantages of group and shared presentations; discussing curatorial, design, and other aspects of public-facing work Practise-based work: Installing a public presentation, installation work in practice, developing and implementing publication and other site-based works. Planning, designing and composing assorted materials necessary for public presentation and other needed texts, such as students' own bios and project descriptions, and varied texts focusing on public presentation. All work related to dismantling of a public presentation. Presentations: Possible artist talks or guided tours during the public presentation; developing strategies for public engagement including, and beyond, the institutional. Assessment day: Critical review and discussion of the public presentation and the project as a whole.
