CONTENT, ASSESSMENT AND WORKLOAD

Content

    In this course, we discuss social and cultural perspectives on contemporary art and education, particularly focusing on aims to identify and/or create democratic and sustainable spaces for teaching and learning. With the help of advanced research literature, we engage with critical analyses of theories and topics related to contemporary art and pedagogy. At the end of the course, students write a research paper in which they further reflect theories and concepts discussed during the course.

    This course is co-organized with Aalborg University, Denmark. All class session are taught in hybrid, and half of the students participate in the course from Copenhagen. We use Aalto OpenLearning instead of MyCourses. If you are not a student of Nordic Master in Visual Studies and Art Education, please contact the course teacher for further details.
