Content

The course will explore different aspects of documentary film history and theory, critically examining traditions, concepts or authors from a theoretical and historical perspective. The course might focus on historical periods, artistic movements, authors or theoretical concepts in documentary film.
Assessment Methods and Criteria

Students will be required to research, read and summarize literature on documentary history and theory. Completing the course involves students active participation in class and the completion of a written assignment or oral presentation.
Workload
valid for whole curriculum period:
At least 80% participation in face-to-face teaching is mandatory to complete the course. If, due to absences, the student does not achieve the learning outcomes defined in the course description, the remaining 20% may have to be compensated as determined by the responsible teachers of the course. All absences must be reported to the teachers in charge. The responsible teachers of the course will specify the necessary compensating assignments.
