LEARNING OUTCOMES

Students will learn about the Western woodblock printmaking process, plate cutting and printing. Printing material used: woodblock.

Content

    The course prepares the student for independent work in woodcut and opens up opportunities to develop personal artistic expression.

Assessment Methods and Criteria

    Passing the course requires 80 percent attendance and completion of the exercises.

Workload

    The course is organized as contact teaching (70 hours) including demonstrations, lectures, exercises and personal guidance.

    Registration:

    Prioritization order for admission is based on the prioritization criteria established by Aalto ARTS:

    After the registration has closed, SISU conducts a raffle to allocate all the seats while considering the possible prioritisation order stated above. If there are more registrants than available seats, ten (10) students from the remaining applicants are drawn and placed on a waiting list in numerical order. On the first day of the course, these students may check for available seats in case of no-shows. Any available seats are then filled in numerical order.

    All applicants will receive an email containing details about the registration status, once the registration period has closed.

    Minimum amount of participants is 8 students, maximum 12.
