LEARNING OUTCOMES

Process safety and risk management focuses on the prevention and mitigation of releases of hazardous materials that may lead to fires, explosions, or toxic impacts. This course prepares students for understading the process hazard, hazard evaluation,  consequence analysis, accident investigation, and risk management. Guest Lecturer from industry will present first-hand knowledge of industrial process safety and risk management.

After the course, the student

1. Can acquire the basic knowledge of safety in chemical process industry

2. Can identify the hazard of chemicals, chemical processes and apply ISD principles which offers a sustainable process design

3. Can develop and understand the safety management, culture & sustainability

4. Can identify the risk of damages and accidents in chemical process industry and method of prevention

5. Can apply the hazard and safety analysis methods

6. Can identify fires and explosions, and design the preventions

7. Can use the methods and techniques to control the hazards and chemical process
