LEARNING OUTCOMES

This course introduces you to the basic quantitative tools that can be used for evaluating aspects of ecological sustainability in building design. After the course, you will be able to understand and carry out material flow analysis, energy simulation, carbon footprint calculation, and green factor assessment.

Content

    This practical assessment course consists of tutored calculation and simulation exercises with different tools. The assessment workflow is built around a BIM model of a simple building.

    The course complements the system-level theory course ARK-E3020 Sustainable Design Principles.

    The grade is determined by the qualitative evaluation of the project works.
