    Aim of this workshop is to provide basic knowledge of how to shoot better quality scientific images and videos to support and clarify your studies, publications and presentations.

    The workshop will go through whole workflow in practical level: aim is to provide a step-by-step guide to participants to shoot better quality images for scientific use whether is online publication, print media, presentation or poster.

    The workshop consists of four sessions (4 hours each) which include theoretical lectures and practical photo shoot demonstrations. Between sessions there are assignments based on each participant's own project.

    • Session 1 (18.1.2017): Basics of Photography & Use of SLR Cameras
    • Sessions 2+3 (1.2.2017 and 15.2.2017): Basics of Lighting & Shooting Products
    • Session 4 (1.3.2017): Post-Production and Basics of Visual & Effective Presentation

    First session concentrates on how to use DSLR camera to take better quality still-images and videos (basics of photography and camera functions), and basics of image quality: technical, visual and storytelling.

    Second and third session are practical photo shoot demonstrations how to shoot images and videos for scientific use. Idea is to demonstrate how to shoot documentary and storytelling images and videos to support and clarify scientific project.

    Fourth session is about effective workflow and basics of post-production. Additionally it discusses how to create more clear, visual and effective presentations or posters for scientific use.


    Credits: 2 (sessions + assignments) or 1 (only sessions)
