  • Teaching practice / Opetusharjoittelu (5 cr/op)

    The goal of the teaching practice is to develop teaching skills by applying the theories learned during the training to one's own field of teaching and teaching practices. During the practice, you have the opportunity to plan and implement teaching based on what you have learned during the training and to try new approaches under guidance. Through reflection, you will develop your own teaching style and improve your professional competence as an expert in pedagogy.

    The course comprises the following elements:

    Kick-off session (14.12.2017),
    peer group meetings (four meetings),
    peer group members' teaching observation: observing your peers' teaching and providing oral and written feedback on your peers,
    observing other teaching (5 observations) including teaching in upper secondary school (lukio) or university of applied sciences,
    own teaching: practical implementation of the teaching practice,
    compiling teaching practice plan including own teaching philosophy, peer feedback and reflection of observations.


    COURSE SCHEDULE
    The course starts with a kick-off meeting on the 14th December 2017, 13.00 - 15:30. Place: Otakaari 1, U402.
    The schedule of the peer group meetings will be agreed on the kick-off meeting.
