    Learning Outcomes:  The course provides students with the knowledge required to pass four different levels of the international HSK Test in written Mandarin. During the course, the students can learn a word list and the grammatical structures needed in the HSK test.

    Workload:        TWO groups
    1.    Group 1(Basic level) for Chinese 1 or Chinese 2 level students, focus on HSK 1 and HSK 2 test;
    2.    Group 2 (Intermediate level) for Chinese 3-5 level students, study HSK 3 and HSK 4 test.
     
    Each group 12 contact hours + independent work.
     
    Group 1 (Basic level): FOUR compulsory lectures in this course, i.e.

    • 4.2 HSK 1 and 2
    • 11.2 HSK 2
     
    Group 2 (Intermediate level): FOUR compulsory lectures in this course, i.e.

    • 25.3 HSK 4 + 5
     
     
    This course has NO test in the end, only assignments + self-study;
    Grade will be pass or fail.

    What is HSK tests?
    The HSK test is an international standardized exam that tests and rates non-native Chinese speakers' language proficiency. The HSK test consists of two independent parts, a writing test and a speaking test.

    Test structure
    The HSK test consists of two independent parts: a writing test and a speaking test.
    The HSK Writing Test is divided into six different levels: Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, Level 4, Level 5 and Level 6.
    The HSK Speaking Test is divided into three levels: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced.
    The registration for the HSK writing and speaking tests takes place separately.

    Confucius Institute organizes the HSK Writing Test and HSKK Speaking Test twice a year.

     The tests are held at university classrooms. The Speaking test is held at the Language Lab A113 in Metsätalo (Unioninkatu 40 ). Currently you can take only paper-based test at the institute.
