    Learning Outcomes 
    By successfully completing this course, students will be able to: 
    - know the basics of Chinese culture, business etiquette 
    - describe the life in China 
    - describe Chinese dialects, regions and minorities 
    - get familiar with Chinese rituals, values, attitudes 
    - can speak some basic greetings and useful phrases 
    Content 
    A course is lecture and discussion-based, where students freely discuss topics given by the teacher. We will discuss for example the topics below: 
    - how to do business with Chinese, Business etiquette and culture 商务礼仪
    - Chinese history and Chinese historical tales 中国历史和历史故事
    - Traditional Chinese culture 中国传统文化
    - how the ancient philosophies influence today’s culture and people 中国古代哲学思想
    - Chinese popular culture and what topics are welcome and safe (e.g. what are good gifts) 中国流行文化
     
    Assessment 
    1. Zoom lectures 24 h (20%) (Attending Zoom lessons 8 times in total, absence of 1-2 times allowed).  
    2. Oral presentation (30%)

    3. An essay in English about a cultural topic (50%)

    Workload 
    Contact hours 24 hrs + independent work 57 hrs.
    (Active discussion, oral presentations and an essay in English about a cultural topic).
