Students are expected to identify and discuss the main ideas reflected in the readings along with their personal connection to them. In preparing for the discussions, students are advised pay close attention to the readings, analyze and respond to them using, for example, critical commentary, personal narrative, or intertextuality. In short, students should attempt to insert themselves into the assigned texts by taking a position on the readings that inspires dialogue, and links theoretical issues with wider and pedagogical concerns.

      Learning & reflections log Assignment

Students keep a learning log, in which they reflect on the course and group communication, on their evolving thoughts in relation to the guest speaker lectures, and on the process of working with a partner. There is no length of format requirement for this type of journaling on learning. These can be submitted followed by each class session as informal and direct reflections, or submitted at the end of the course as a holistic reflection.
