1. Empirical assignment is ONLY for those who carry out 5 credit course. If you intend to take the 5 credit course, enroll to an empirical assignment group. Please have a look at empirical assignment instructions.
2. Weekly assignments are obligatory for all students. Each assignment will be graded on scale 0-5. You must get minimum 1 point of each weekly assignment to pass the course. If you fail a weekly assignment, you are allowed to retake it once , however, the maximum points of a retaken weekly assignment is 1/5. The weekly assignment serves also as an open exam, which means that no exams will be arranged at the assessment periods.
There will be 10 weekly assignments, and the deadline for submissions is each Friday at 16:00. Submitting the weekly assignment late will deduce 1 point. The submission closes one week after the deadline, and after that it is not possible to submit at all. You are allowed to submit all weekly assignments as early as you wish. However, they will be graded weekly after the deadline by the end of the next week.
3. In the four case-workshops the learned things are applied to practice. There are 2-4 case tasks in each workshop related to the themes of the two previous weeks. Students in groups of 3-4 discuss the tasks in advance and prepare to present their solution in the workshop. Three consecutive worskhops, 45-60 minutes each, are arranged on 30.9., 14.10., 28.10. and 11.11. between 14-17. There will be 2-4 groups present in each workshop presenting their solutions and discussing with other groups. The practical arrangements of the workshops depend on the corona situation and will be announced later. Maximum points that can be earned from each workshop is 2,5 (2 points based on the solution and presentation, and 0,5 points based on active discussion).
For those who do the 3 credit course, the final grade is based on the weekly assignments (max 50 points) and the workshops (max 10 points) as follows:
