  • In spring 2021 seminar in Software ad Service Engineering (CS-E5000) is organized together with the special course CS-E5002. The topic of the course is UX management and professionals

    Assessments and workload: This online course consists of two weekly lectures (12 lectures) on a series of topics with invited guest speakers and related discussion, based on presentation and reading materials. In addition the course includes writing of a seminar paper on the course theme. The workload includes: active participation on 12 lectures (26 hours), weekly readings (28 hours) and writing of a seminar paper including feedback and peer-review (81 hours).

      Description of your chosen topic or point of view for the seminar paper. The paper can be written individually or in pairs. 

      Start a new discussion for your paper. If you are writing in pairs, please clearly indicate who will be writing with you. 

      You are free to have discussion on other's topics. The discussion forum has limited access to CS-E5000 and CS-E5002 participants.

      Submit your first draft (2 to 3 pages) of the seminar paper including initial title, names of the authors, abstract, research question(s) and list of references. This page length includes everything in the document.

      Use the IOS press template when writing the paper. Submit as a .pdf. 


      Note! The final length for the individual paper is at least 4 and maximum 5 pages (this length includes title, abstract, keywords and the actual headings with text) + references.

      Note! 

      For the final version of the seminar paper the length of the individual paper is at least 4 and maximum 5 pages (this length includes title, abstract, keywords and the actual headings with text) + references. The length of the abstract should be between 150-300 words. Usually papers have the following structure for the headings, but this can vary a bit depending on topic: Introduction, Method, Results, Discussion, and Conclusion.

      This first version can be longer as usually there is too much text that then needs to be revised to be more concise.

      Submit as a .pdf. Note! If you are working on the seminar paper as a pair, both students must submit the same version of the draft and both will provide feedback separately on another paper.

      You will give feedback to other students by the end of day 26.5. The feedback form will open 19.5. and the deadline is 26.5. The feedback for both the paper and presentation is given in this Workshop-activity.

      The submissions will be graded by other students according to the seminar paper evaluation criteria (max 30 points + justification) and additional comments. These grades do not affect the grading of the course. This is for improving your submission before the final version. 

      Additionally you will be given 0-2 points for giving the peer-review. This will affect your course grade.
