    NOTE: starting from academic year 2022-2023, this course will no longer be arranged. The course KIG-C1030 can be studied instead


    The course learning sessions will be held in Zoom, and the general discussion and primary means of contacting the course staff will be in Teams. Links can be found below (visible only to students registered to the course).

    All course materials will be provided in English. In learning sessions Finnish is used if everyone present prefer it over English.

    • The goal of the course is to teach you about the importance of spatial data and allow you familiarize yourselves with existing spatial data sets and data providers. How spatial data is managed and what kinds of technologies are used for it is also an important part of the course.


      Please remember to register to the course using the new Sisu system.
      Lectures will be held on-line in Zoom. Recordings of lectures will be posted in panopto.
      To pass the course, you need to write a learning diary, do a group work project, and gain sufficient amount of points from weekly exercises.
