  Tietotekniikan laitoksen jatko-opiskelija Abby Zavgorodniaia tekee ohjelmoinnin opetukseen liittyvää tutkimusta, johon osallistumisesta saa 300 ylimääräistä harjoitustehtäväpistettä. Tutkimus alkaa kognitiivisilla testeillä, jotka voi tehdä vaikka heti, kun tutkimus avautuu 13.9. Niiden jälkeen tuleva osa liittyy funktioiden oppimiseen, joten se on tarkoitus tehdä siinä vaiheessa, kun on tehnyt kierroksen kolme, mutta ei vielä aloittanut kierroksen 4 materiaaliin tutustumista. Tutkimukseen voi kuitenkin osallistua vain 10.10. iltaan asti. Tutkimus on englanniksi. Katso mainosvideo. Alla on tutkimuksesta tarkempaa tietoa:

  What you get: 300 extra course points; scores and feedback on your working memory and thinking skills; knowledge about functions in Python and feedback on post-test (scores and hints on what could be improved).

  
  

  When to participate: any time from the 13th of September till the 10th of October,  between finishing Round 3 (“More about control statements”) and starting Round 4 (“Functions”) in A+. However, you can start doing cognitive tests already, i.e. before finishing any Round, to leave more time for the learning part. It is crucial that you don’t start learning about Functions from the course before doing so in the experiment! 

  Please, be honest answering questions since you will get the points for participation anyway and we very much need good data.

  
  

  How to participate: the study contains 4 cognitive tests (all with feedback), a small pre-test (not to worry about), learning materials and a post-test (with feedback and recommendations). You can deal with each part one at a time. Click on the link below and you will be directed to the experiment’s intro page. You can use that link whenever you want to continue the participation, the system will guide you. Note, if you exit any of the activities in the middle of it, you will have to start it again.

  
  

  I’m done, now what?: after you finish the last task you will get a generated code which you will need to paste in the corresponding assignment at MyCourses and submit it. That is for us to know who will get the points. (Sometimes there are some delays in the system and you have to wait for a while to get the code.)

Paina koodin kirjoittamisen jälkeen Tallenna muutokset -painiketta. Koodin palauttaminen osoittaa sinun tehneen tutkimuksen, ja saat sen avulla tutkimuksesta tulevat 300 ylimääräistä harjoitustehtäväpistettä. Pisteitä ei näy A+-järjestelmässä, mutta ne lisätään pisteisiisi siinä vaiheessa, kun kurssin harjoitustehtävätulokset lasketaan.
