    This course investigates timber-only structures as a design-build case study. 

    Presently, we have a PhD research ongoing that investigates the potential of salvaged timber and its assembly by the use of wooden nails only. We have performed initial load tests and have fabricated a set of samples for long-term testing under real weather conditions.

    NOW, we have the chance to build a trail project for Kouvola City. A small path, entirely made from our modules, will be assembled and installed there, crossing a small forest.
    Gengmu Ruan, who will be the project leader, will give insights into the research and the tests that were performed so far. He will also guide you from the theory to the hands-on part and if we are lucky, we will make a big step towards realization.
