  • Welcome to the Biomedical Ultrasonics course! 

    The registration to the course is now open. Please, visit sisu.aalto.fi to register to the course.     While this is a hybrid course, most of the course is taking place online. However, we will have demonstrations and lab work, which will take place on-campus. The on-campus parts of the course are arranged so that it is safe to you. If you have special needs or concerns regarding safety, please contact the course lecturer.

    Ultrasound creates value to biomedicine:

    It might not be self-evident that ultrasound does not only enable imaging or measurements, but importantly it can create various non-linear effects, which can be used for medical purposes. Examples of the opportunities of ultrasound in biomedicine beyond imaging include drug delivery, non-invasive surgery, gene delivery, sonoporation etc. The physics behind these methods and many more will be covered during the course, in connection with the real-world use.
