Topic outline

  • This course is intended for students of architecture and engineering to gain familiarity with the issues and practices of the wood construction industry. It introduces students to the materials, structures, products, and production methods used commonly today and considers prospects for their future.

    The course proceeds through lectures on wooden building systems and case studies of built works. Assignments will include analysis tasks of built works in relation to elementation, structural stability, industrial manufacturing, transport and assembly.

    The course is organized as a hybrid: partly online and partly on-site.

       Sessions on 10.1 and 12.1 are online. Teaching mode of the following session will be announced.
