Lecture 1: Internship & Thesis information event Folder
Watch the recording of this lecture.
Below you can find the slides presented at the lecture.
Questions from chat that remained unanswered during the lecture:
1. Do we have a list of companies joining the talentmatch?
No, not yet. You will receive a list of the companies before the event.
2. Is it only for HCID students or also for Data Science?
Not sure if this meant the EIT Digital TalentMatch event? If yes, it is for all exit students.
3. Do you recommend we start searching as soon as possible or should we first attend this course's classes to improve our CVs and other things we might use?
We recommend you to start searching for thesis positions straight away, and at least get familiar with different websites you can look for thesis positions and of course you can alrady check if you could improve your CV or LinkedIn profile, and then when you receive more information or attend different cliniques, you can improve them even more. We do not have a CV or LinkedIn clinique on this course, but the Career services offer these kind of cliniques and you should check them from the Aalto JobTeaser.
4. What happens if we complete the thesis after October?
There are deadlines for thesis submission approx. once a month (eg. in Nov & Dec). You should check the deadlines from SCI Master's thesis.
If you complete the thesis after July, you will need to enroll for the next semester and pay the AYY membership fee and the student healthcare fee.
If you complete the thesis after October, you will not be able to attend the EIT Digital graduation ceremony with your cohort, but you can possibly attend next year.
If you are an Non-EU/EEA student, and graduate after July, you will need to apply for 5th semester scholarship and most likely extend your residence permit. If you are a non-EU/EEA student and will not graduate during the 5th semester, you will be liable to pay tuition fees to Aalto from the 6th semester onwards (7500EUR/semester).
