What is the "Case-module"
The case module is an additional element to the Introduction to Project Management -course, running parallel to the main course. It consists of three PM cases, done with three companies, each hosting one case. There's space for 20 students in the case module.
NB! Enrollment closed on Oct 21st, and the case module if full. There were 50 applications, and admission was randomised.
Mechanics
The cases will be run as two-week stints. Each of the case studies consists of a preparatory week (weeks 44, 46, 48) and a case week (weeks 45, 47, and 49).
The weekly structure for the case studies will be the following:
Schedule on the preparatory weeks (weeks 44, 46, and 48)
Tuesday noon after the lecture (the week before the case week): the groups and the case pre-readings will be published.
Rest of the week: meet with your case team, go through the pre-readings, and orientate yourself for the next week’s case solving.
Schedule on the case weeks (weeks 45, 47, and 49)
Monday 7:00 AM: the case study will be released.
Tuesday 12:00-12:15 PM after the lecture: Q&A with the case company representative (a possibility to ask any case-related questions).
Wednesday 11:59 PM: Deadline for returning the case study.
Thursday 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM: an excursion to the case company facilities, presentation of the case solution, and the feedback for the cases.
Groups
The case studies will be conducted as group cases. The groups will be formed randomly by the course personnel, and we will do a rotation of groups for each case - this means there will be a new group for each of the cases.
