  • Welcome to the course

    Before the first session: do the pre-assignment (available at the Exercise materials -page) and view the video lecture for the first session (Available at the Learning session materials -page).

    All course materials will be provided in English. In learning sessions Finnish is used if everyone present prefers it over English. If there are anyone present who prefer English, then English will be used.
    • The goal of the course is to teach you about the importance of spatial data and allow you familiarize yourselves with existing spatial data sets and data providers. How spatial data is managed and what kinds of technologies are used for it is also an important part of the course.


      To pass the course, you need to write a learning diary, do a group work project, and gain sufficient amount of points from weekly exercises.
