  • In the first week, we will introduce the challenge and arrange teams to work in multidisciplinary groups. Each team will conduct initial desktop and fieldwork research to gather inspiration and identify relevant problems worth solving for a specific life event during this week. 

    13.09 (in-classroom) Introduction to the challenge and service design process
    Introduction to the course and presentation of the project brief. And, initial work with personas and day in the life.

    15.09 (in-classroom) Jobs to be done and fieldwork
    One Interview + Build an understanding of this life event by uncovering people's Jobs to be Done (JTBD).

    • FINISH EXERCISES INITIATED IN CLASS - Agree with your team on the best way to finish the work initiated in class. Follow the instructions given in this slides, pages 31-33.

    • ARRANGE ONE INTERVIEW AND ONE TESTING SESSION - Individually, find someone from your network who has experienced a life situation that can be targeted by your potential service. You can also interview each other if you fit this profile.
      Interview: Arrange a 1h time slot to interview this person, ideally face to face between Friday 16th - Monday 19th September..
      Testing: Arrange a follow-up interview with the same person, ideally face to face, to test ideas between Friday 23rd - Monday 26th September.

    • Individually, DOCUMENT THE INTERVIEW findings using the jobs statement format (JTBD) Upload the file in MyCourses
    • SHOW & TELL- Find and prepare 5 min presentation of one related research example.Individually, find one existing example of a service that follows the digital service characteristics we discussed in class and that can also serve as benchmark for your group theme. Take a screenshot, link and short about the service and submit in MyCourses! We will analyse it together in class.

    • DOCUMENT THE GROUP Jobs to be done summary, upload the file in MyCourses
