After the course the student will be able to:

  • Design plausible synthetic routes for complex organic molecules.
  • Understand and analyze tactics and strategies used in synthesis.
  • Efficiently utilize databases in organic synthesis.

Content

    Designing synthetic routes for complex target molecules. Taking into account stereo-, chemo- and regioselectivities. Analyzing synthetic strategies and tactics. Creativity in organic synthesis. Using Reaxys and other databases for synthesis planning.

    Homework problems: 50%

    Synthesis plan (credibility, creativity, use of literature): 50%
