Topic outline

  • CHEM-E1105 Advanced Fibreline Processes is targeted for master and doctoral students who already have basic knowledge on the structure and chemistry of biomass and its reactions in chemical pulping processes. The basic idea of the course is to expose the students to some of the most recent scientific literature and topical research questions that are possibly relevant in developing the performance of fibreline processes in some aspect. During the course students will learn to understand complex reaction systems, connect scientific observations with practical applications and apply logical science-based argumentation in decision making and questioning existing practices.

The teaching on the course includes weekly lectures (Tuesday at 10.15-12.00, February 28 to May 23 except for April 11 and 18) and exercises (Wednesday at 12.15-14.00, March 8 to April 5).
