  • Welcome to the MyCoutrses workspace for the Spring 2023 edition of the CS-E4000 course Seminar in Computer Science: Internet, Data and Things.

    The course includes an integrated English support module since 2016. You can refer to the course syllabus for an overview and to the frequently asked questions for additional information. 

    During this course, the students will write technical reports in the format of scientific articles. The content is mostly based on a literature survey, i.e., the articles summarize existing work on a specific topic in computer science, including a discussion with own observations. Sometimes, the articles may also include some original implementations made by the student.

    Detailed information about the course and the related practicalities will be given during the first lecture, scheduled for Monday, January 9, 2023, from 16:15 to 18:00 in T2.

    The final list of topics will be available on Monday 16.1.2023 at 12:00 (noon).

    The second lecture is about how to present technical content, scheduled for Monday, January 16, 2023, from 16:15 to 18:00 in T2.

    The registration for the topics will open on Tuesday 17.1.2023 at 12:00 (noon).

    Optional Q&A session with the course staff revisiting the objectives with additional advice. Monday, January 30, 2023, from 16:15 to 17:00 in T2.

    The first Draft is Due on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at 23:59. See Model for Draft 1 in materials.

    The second Draft is Due on Monday, March 6, 2023 at 23:59. See Model for Draft 2 in materials.

    Opponent feedback is Due on Monday, March 20, 2023 at 23:59. Send an email with the course alias in CC.

    The final paper is Due on Monday, April 10, 2023 at 23:59 (x) -> Extended DL: Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at 23:59

    Opponent questions are Due on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at 23:59. Submit to the Assignments section.

    Final slides are Due on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at 23:59.

    Seminar Day is mandatory for attending, scheduled for Friday, April 21, 2023, from 9:15 to 16:00 in two locations, R030/A133 T5 and R030/T6 A136.
