Topic outline

    • -Howard Schultz, Chairman of Starbucks

Howard is always open for innovative ideas. Clearly some aspects of the current operation appear ill suited to the Finnish market or well past their "sell by date". Take VIP for a test drive. Deconstruct the existing domain, identify the driving forces at work and that may impact the future context. What will that context look like, what types of interaction and products do customers in that world need? Assume the time frame as one year (we are dealing with a public company after all!)

Assuming you have an opportunity to pitch to Howard (5 minutes max), prepare a presentation, including a storyboard (what you intend to say) either as presentation notes or as attached separate summary.

UPLOAD LIMIT ON MYCOURSES IS 400MB

    • If you were not one of the presenters on stage, submit detailed and thoughtful critiques on any two (2) of the presentations of no more than one page each. Only put the name of the individual presenting on each critique. THESE BLIND CRITIQUES WILL BE DISTRIBUTED TO THE PRESENTERS.

    • Download a copy of Sara Sarasvathy's article "What Makes Entrepreneurs Entrepreneurial?". Based on insights from reading through the substantial resources provided in the course web, write a reflective essay to support the answer "because they embrace design thinking" to the question posed by Saras.

      Word Limit 2000

    • Have one member of the team upload a Powerpoint version of your presentation into MyCourses

I will upload these onto my laptop before our final session.

AS A FAILSAFE, I WOULD ASK THAT YOU ALSO PUT YOUR PRESENTATION ON A USB -- JUST IN CASE :)

    • I would ask one member of each team to upload a summary of your ideation activities and citations/links to the resources you accessed. Basically anything your team would consider useful if others were to pick up this challenge in the future.
