    Welcome to USchool Intro 2022!

    This course is targeted for students of USchool minor at Aalto and University of Helsinki. It takes place as a set of lectures/visits and online events to the three organizing units/departments (Aalto SCI, Aalto ARTS, UH Cognitive Science).

    After the completion of the course, the students understand a) the foundations and scope of human-centred design, and b) the need for and practices in multidisciplinary design. Furthermore, the intent is to get familiar with other students and teachers from the participating universities/disciplines.

    Participation to all sessions is mandatory. Passing the course requires participation at the lectures and completion of the group assigments including the presentation of the group work results.


    Lecture 1 (Wed 14-Sep-2022). The first lecture (lecturer: Marko Nieminen) will take place on Wednesday 14-Sept-2022 at 14:15 at Otaniemi in TUAS building (Maarintie 8) meeting room AS3 Saab Space (1021-1022). UPDATE! Due to Sisu-induced confusion about the online/offline arrangments of the first lecture, the lecture will be (hopefully) arranged in a hybrid manner. For online participation, the Zoom link is following: https://aalto.zoom.us/j/63709720048.

    Lecture 2 (Wed 21-Sep-2022 at 14:15-15:45). The second lecture is arranged at University of Helsinki (lecturer: Anna-Mari Rusanen). The location of the lecture is at Unioninkatu 40, lecture room 10 (3rd floor), Metsätalo, University of Helsinki. Please reserve sufficient time to find your way to the on-site classroom!

    Lecture 3 (Wed 28-Sep-2022 at 14:15-16:00). The third lecture (lecturer: Virpi Roto) is arranged at Aalto ARTS, lecture room Q202, Otaniementie 14 (Väre building).
