    TIMETABLE

    Mon 17.4.2023: Afternoon: Opening lecture 1: Critical and experimental perspectives to new materialism and material agency (by Heidi Fast)  

    Tue 18.4.2023: Morning: Opening lecture 2: Design pedagogy (by Eeva Jokinen) + assignment: experimental project with material (independent or group work). Afternoon: independent or group work 

    Wed 19.4.2023: Independent or group work (experimental project with material)

    Thu 20.4.2023: Independent or group work (experimental project with material) – Eeva and/or Heidi present, possibility for guidance

    Fri 21.4.2023: Presentation of the experimental projects with material and discussion

    In addition to that, an essay or artwork/material exploration that widens the themes introduced and initiated in the 17.–21.4. course realisation.  

    Credits:

    3 credits: Participation in lectures, discussions and completing given individual and group assignments during 17.–21.4. course realisation (minimun 80% attendance) + 3 credits: Essay or artwork/material exploration that widens the themes introduced during the intensive course.


    LEARNING OUTCOMES

    Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
    1 comprehend the basics of design thinking and education.
    2 utilise sustainable design thinking in their own work
    3 build their relationship to materiality and comprehend new materialism
