    Welcome to the KiVANET Chinese 2 course. 

    The KiVANET Chinese 2 course is divided into two parts:

    1. Chinese pronunciation and oral communication: 3 credits

    2. Writing of Chinese Chratacters: 2 credits (https://mycourses.aalto.fi/user/index.php?id=38305)

    Course Content:

    In this part you will learn more communicative situations in everyday life and work, such as visiting a tea house, restaurant, shop etc., how to introduce your nationality and what languages you speak. You will also learn grammar rules for creating different types of sentences, and different kinds of question sentences and their answers.

    This part of the course is 3 credits. 1 credit means 27 hours of work. This means that the workload for part 1 will be 81 hours and for part 2 it will be 54 hours.

    Grading: 

    Grading for this part of the course is 1-5. 

    • Assignments 50 % of the grade
    • Oral exam at the end of the course 50% of the grade

    The grades should be in the system within 4 weeks of completing the course.

    After that, you need to transfer the credits to your school.     Course kick-off and study sessions:

    We will have one kick-off lecture on January 14th at 12:00-13:30. Please participate in the online meeting through the link on the bottom of this page in Chinese 2 zoom.

    We will have optional study sessions, where you can get help with any questions you have, on Saturdays at 12:00-13:30. The dates for Chinese 2 study sessions are: 28.1., 11.2., 4.3., 18.3. and 1.4. You can also email me, if you have any questions about the course content.

    Assignments:

    Please submit the assignments by the deadlines. You can find the 5 lessons that you have to complete on the left. The first lesson is posted at the start of the course, the rest will follow as soon as possible.

    Oral Exam:

    The exam will take place at the end of this course. Make sure you have returned all of the assignments before attending the exam. Please, schedule your exam time on the scheduler under the Oral Exam tab by April.
