The first meeting of the course is held on *Friday* 8.9 while the remaining classroom meetings are on Thursdays. The first and second meetings take place in class U119 (kandikeskus/Undergraduate center) and are held jointly for the English and the Finnish program seminar group and will be taught by Miri Stryjan. Nelli Valmari who will be supervising the theses in Finnish will also be present in the first meeting.Start already thinking about a subject area that interests you, which you can possibly do your bachelor's thesis on (this is not yet binding, but it makes it easier to start the seminar). Return a preliminary topic or area of interest in the return box on this page below by Tuesday 12.9. at 23.59.
The time schedule of the seminar is being updated under "Time schedule" (on the left). In particular, the number of seminars for student presentations may be changed, depending on the number of students in the group. For a description of the seminar, see syllabus (on the right). For further guidance, see the pdf-document “BSc in Economics guide 2022” under "Materials" (on the left).

In the attached table you can see your allocated second advisors for students in the English group. You can contact your advisors via email. Write them an email where you introduce yourself, briefly explain your topic (e.g. by sending the topic that you submitted to us) and ask when they can meet or discuss with you - you can also suggest dates if you want. The advisors are supposed to have at least two meetings with you (on campus or online, depending on what you agree with them).
We have tried to allocate the advisors according to your topics as well as possible. I recommend to look at the webpage of your advisor before talking to them, in order to see which (if any) of your suggested topics match better with the advisor's expertise.

Choose a preliminary topic or area of interest for your thesis, and return it to this box. This choice is not yet binding, but helps us proceed with the seminar. You can find some guidance to the choice of topic in “BSc in Economics guide 2022” at the “Materials”-section of the course web-page. If you cannot yet list an exact topic, you should mention at least an area of interest that you could work on. If you want, you can also mention several topics, but mention first the one that you most likely would pick.
Finnish program students: Please also write here in which language you plan to write the thesis: English or Finnish (in the English BSc program, all students must write in English).

Thesis template information:
Kandidaatintyö: https://www.aalto.fi/fi/ohjelmat/kauppatieteiden-kandidaattiohjelma/opinnayte > Näin viimeistelet palautettavan tiedoston
Bachelor’s thesis: https://www.aalto.fi/en/programmes/bachelors-programme-in-economics/thesis > How to format your thesis for submission
For Latex: https://wiki.aalto.fi/display/Aaltothesis/Aalto+Thesis+LaTeX+Template
But also note that only the cover pages of the thesis have to follow the format of the template. So you can prepare those separately using the instructions in the links, and then merge them (merge pdf) with the rest of your thesis (which can be written in e.g. MS word or LaTeX).
