AI Writing Tools: Guidelines & policy for this course
As a part of the learning process, you are required to search and analyse information (e.g., texts and figures) as well as independently write texts in which you apply the communication strategies and readability principles you learn during the course.
Your coursework should show the extent of your knowledge and reflect your learning process. Therefore, all assignments submitted to this course must be your own work, and AI software should not be used to generate or format any parts of the assignments submitted to this course.
If you use ChatGPT or other such technology, use it more as an initial point of gaining perspectives and ideas for your work. Find the original sources and do not rely on the sources Chat GPT gives you. Write all your texts yourself.
Note, you are allowed to use online tools, such as Grammarly, to check the accuracy of phrases or words in spelling or meaning, but not to create or format text.- If your text gets a high score in the Originality check or AI detection tool (Turnitin), be ready to discuss the matter with Jenni. Questionable originality will result in no comments for the draft and possibly 0 points.
IMPORTANT: If you for some reason do use AI-based technology, you must provide accurate and appropriate reference to the tool used both within the text and in the sources. In addition, you need to clearly describe how, what and/or why AI-based technology has been used to complete the assignment.
