Topic outline
-
The course provides an overview of an investment project and all the activities included during the entire lifecycle of a project. These activities include, for instance, process engineering, project implementation planning, implementation methods, contract-, scope-, resource-, time-, cost- and risk management and engineering tools.
The course includes a practical process design oriented exercise using a real-life project case. A part of the lectures are arranged in a consultancy firm. The exercise includes an oral presentation on the results.
After the course, the students are familiar with systematic planning, implementation and management of a process industry investment project (pulp & paper, chemical industry etc.) throughout the project from early studies to startup of the plant.
